Dont give up your day
Newcastle born Indi-Pop songstress, Beth Brown is captivating international audiences with her earthy, grounded and infectious tunes, having recently forged a pathway to the United States.
Growing up Beth often visited the Central Coast, and once she was old enough she’d do the drive to Terrigal for the day with friends, and for a surf.
Beth relocated to Nashville in 2015 and made her debut appearance at Americana Fest 2015, playing the prestigious Blue Bird Café. She also became the first female Australian artist to be endorsed by The Gretsch Company, with a personal welcome from owner Fred Gretsch. Beth’s also just been awarded a Mentorship and Catalogue Development Grant by the Australian Arts Council to write an album in Nashville.
Co-writing with John Hadley, Shannon Sanders and Jerry Sally, has introduced Beth into the creative circles that have written for recording artists like John Legend, Chris Stapleton, Patti Griffin and Emmylou Harris.
Partnering with US Producer Brad Jones, Beth has joined a list of critically acclaimed Australian artists including Missy Higgins, Ben Lee, Melody Pool and Bob Evans (from Jedediah) who have also worked with Jones.
We recently caught up with Beth via phone from Nashville.
“it’s been the experience of a life time; Nashville has lived up to its reputation as Music City. I’ve never felt so challenged, pressured, pushed and alive. It’s exactly what I wanted. Nashville has been crucial to forming foundations in the industry, so I’m extremely thankful to be writing and performing with such amazing professionals and to have been welcomed into the songwriting community here.
Nashville is Songwriting Heaven and I’m truly blessed and thankful to be living my dream every day. I want to thank the loyal supporters who have followed my story. I’m thrilled to continue walking this incredible road. Remember never quit your day dream!
